If you are lucky enough to have just one really good friend at any given moment in time… consider yourself very fortunate. A true friend is a treasure in life. It’s someone that cares about you, for who you are, with all of the flaws and frailties… and they care less about what it is that you do for a living or what kind of car you drive, or how much your new suit costs. Friends are one of our most valued commodities and we should make a conscious effort to develop friendships whenever and wherever we can. Friends are the anchor to our development as people. Often, a true friend is the best lifeline we have when things are less than perfect. Just as we cultivate business relationships over the years, we should also focus on cultivating friendships. Those whom we already include in our list of friends should be watched like a well-manicured garden. Care must be taken to nourish a friendship so that it will flourish when needed. I list friendships among my life’s top three most important categories… which are, in my opinion… faith, family and friends. With these three working for you… it is possible to have it all.
